Aadhaar is a 12 digit individual identification number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India on behalf of the Government of India for all Indian citizens. This unique number will serve as a proof of identity and address, anywhere in India. Any individual irrespective of age and gender, who is a resident in India and satisfies the verification process laid down by the UIDAI can enroll for Aadhaar. Each individual needs to enroll for Aadhaar only once which is free of cost. Each Aadhaar number will be unique to an individual and will remain valid for life time.

Aadhaar Card Status Check :
The top of your acknowledgement slip contains 14 digit enrolment number and the 14 digit date and time of enrolment. These 28 digits together form your temporary enrolment ID (EID). Enter the 14 digit enrolment number and the enrolment date and time in the boxes provided link in below.
Now you can also check Aadhaar status by sending SMS as “UID STATUS ” (e.g. UID STATUS 12345678901234) to 51969. If your Aadhaar has been generated and SMS is sent from registered mobile then you will receive the Aadhaar number otherwise only current status will be communicated.
Aadhaar Card Download :
Is your Aadhaar Card not delivered ? Do you have Aadhaar Enrollment receipt with you ? Then you need not to worry about your Aadhaar Card. Because UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India ) is providing a facility for Downloading Aadhaar Card Online. In order to download Aadhaar card candidate should posses his/her Aadhaar enrollment receipt.
